Sony To Launch Its PlayStation VR In October 2016 That Will Take Gaming To A Whole New Dimension

Virtual Reality is the next step forward in the world of technology. So why not in gaming? Sony gears up to release its newest innovation, PlayStation VR headgear, in October 2016.

As the gamers will actually be living the game, Sony has set the date of release at the later half of the year so that gaming companies can also pull up their socks and design games suitable for the gadget. According to Sony, as much as 230 developers and publishers are busy in the manufacture of games for PlayStation VR along with approximately 50 titles which are assumed to be on deck by year end.
French video game giant Ubisoft is making an Eagle Flight game which will make the gamers fly virtually. Electronic Arts, DICE and Lucasfilm are collaborating in the making of Star Wars Battlefront title for PlayStation VR.

The PlayStation VR is priced $399, 399 euros and 44,980 yen. One can also plug it into PlayStation4 (PS4). But Sony faces competition from Facebook owned Oculus who are also taking orders for their VR headset, Rift at $599. The purchase of PS4 along with PlayStation VR will cost half the price of Rift and compatible gaming computers.
According to what Brian Blau of Gartner told CNN IBN, it will be necessary for the PlayStation VR users to purchase camera and controller accessories which may get the price a little bit higher yet it will cost substantially lesser than its rivals whose headgears consist of personal computer plug-ins. PlayStation VR can also be used for watching sports, films and television shows and also for business purposes.
